Fibroids & Cysts treatment
Fibroids and ovarian cysts are very common conditions in women and often cause anxiety when detected on ultrasound. The good news is that most fibroids and cysts are benign and treatable, and many do not require surgery at all.
At Parth Maternity Centre, we focus on accurate diagnosis, conservative management when possible, and advanced surgical care only when truly needed.
Uterine Fibroids
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths of the uterus that commonly occur during reproductive years.
Common symptoms include:
- Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
- Painful periods or pelvic pain
- Abdominal heaviness or pressure
- Frequent urination or constipation
- Infertility or repeated pregnancy loss (in some cases)
Treatment options depend on:
- Size and number of fibroids
- Symptoms
- Age and future pregnancy plans
Management may include:
- Medical treatment for symptom control
- Hormonal therapy
- Minimally invasive surgery (myomectomy)
- Laparoscopic or open surgery when indicated
Ovarian Cysts
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs in the ovary, commonly seen in young women and during reproductive years.
Most ovarian cysts are:
- Functional
- Temporary
- Resolve on their own
Symptoms may include:
- Lower abdominal pain
- Irregular periods
- Bloating or discomfort
- Sudden pain (in case of torsion or rupture)
Treatment approach includes:
- Observation and follow-up scans

- Laparoscopic cyst removal if cyst is large, persistent, painful, or suspicious
